Pre treatment...

Prior to your treatment we ask that you disclose to us any conditions or medical concerns that you have, to be sure the treatment you have chosen is safe to go ahead. Common contra-indications include; contagious infections, open wounds, corns or verrucae’s, extremely weak or damaged nails, severely dry skin conditions, known allergies to the products we use, undiagnosed lumps, epilepsy, flu, etc. This list is not inclusive of every contra-indication. Not all contra-indications will prevent your treatment as we may be able to adapt it. Please be honest as it is at your best interest. If your therapist believes the treatment should wait until something has cleared or been given the all clear by a doctor, you will be notified, please don’t be offended.

To get the best results from your waxing treatment, please allow two weeks hair growth. Small hairs cannot be removed with wax. Exfoliating 48 hours before a wax treatment loosens in growing hairs and allows for a smoother finish.

If you have booked an infill but need a new set for lashes or nails, please notify your therapist before arrival. Please notify us prior to your appointment if you require intricate nail art, to be sure you are booked in with the right therapist and they have enough time.

You should arrive to lash appointments without eye makeup on, please bring your glasses and remove contacts. Lash lift and tint, eyelash extensions and tinting require a patch test 24 hours prior

Aftercare...

Eyelash extensions

• No water should come into contact with your new lash extensions for 24 hours

• For 48 hours do not use a steam room, sauna or swimming baths

• All oil based products such as makeup removers, moisturisers and cleansers etc can affect the bonding of a lash extension to a natural lash (Oil loosens the bonding agent.) I advise an oil free makeup remover/eye area cleanser

• Do not rub your lashes; always pat dry your eyes after cleansing. Do not pull or pick your lashes, this will cause damage to your own, it may also cause strain on your lashes and manipulate there position. We offer a lash removal service, which dissolves the bonder and is the safest way to remove lashes, DO NOT attempt to do this yourself

• Do not use mascara

• It is VITAL to keep your lashes clean, please ask your therapist for more information

• Only brush your lashes when necessary

• Naturally, we lose lashes every day, please do not be alarmed if you lose an artificial lash and find it is attached to one of your own, this is normal (Shedding)• Please keep in mind that some lash growth cycles are faster than others, you may find that some infill appointments require more time and more lashes, do not worry, this means your experiencing new growth and other appointments will require a lot less!• If you wish to maintain your lashes, I recommend that you return between 2-3 weeks for an infill to keep them looking full and glam. Generally, the fuller the set you have, the longer they last (more to lose) the amount you will need is dependent on how well you have followed the aftercare advice, your current cycle, skin type, medications, pregnancy, vitamin intake.

• Immediately after application, it is normal to experience slight sensitivity and watery eyes, if you feel you are experiencing an abnormal reaction please call us

• It is uncommon to lose a drastic amount of lashes post application, please contact us immediately if this happens• Do not curl/perm your artificial lashes

Lash lifting/tinting –

• Do not get your lashes wet for 24 hours

• Avoid strenuous exercise which may cause you to sweat for 24 hours

• Avoid steam room and saunas for 48 hours

• Do not use lash curlers

• Try to avoid touching your lashes and sleeping directly on them as this can manipulate the position of them• This treatment lasts 4-6 weeks, tint is included

•Although we are careful in making sure that any traces of tint are removed, in some cases tint can remain on the skin. To remove this use a wet cotton pad and wipe away gently.

Gel/builder/acrylic nails –

• Be especially careful in the first 24 hours after application of gel or acrylic, avoid intense heat during this period, such as saunas, baths and sunbeds as this can lift the product

• Wear gloves when washing up or gardening

• Do not use your nails as tools! (E.g. opening cans/picking) this could lead to lifting, cracking or snapping

• It is recommended that you return for removal of gel or acrylic, rather than damage your own attempting it yourself

• Please don’t pick, peel or bite the product on your nails, again this can cause damage

• Be mindful of chemicals in everyday products and medicated creams, these often contain lanolin, which will cause listing, during decorating or when using harsh products, gloves will be your best investment!

• There is no guarantee on normal polish as this can soon be chipped

• Avoid extensive use of hand sanitizers that contain alcohol as this can lift the product

• Smoking, cooking with spices and chlorine can sometimes disclour gel polish, especially white

• Use cuticle oil daily

• Return every 2-3 weeks for a maintenance appointment

Waxing-

• Please expect the area waxed to be sensitive for up to 24 hours

• Avoid sunbeds, direct sunlight, hot tubs and saunas for 48 hours as this can cause irritation/burning

• Apply a cold compress to sooth any redness following your wax treatment

• Do not touch the area, our pores are opened once waxing has taken place, touching the area could lead to bacterial infections

•Some after wax contains tea tree/aloe-vera, please be specific when noting on your record card of any allergies you may have

Massage/facials

•We strongly recommend staying hydrated post any well-being treatments, (water that is!) as your body has become relaxed during the treatment it is important to take your time afterwards.

•Avoid gyms or anything excessive, attempt to remain relaxed, avoid alcohol for 24 hours and eat a light diet to assist the detoxification process.

•Don’t apply makeup, use sunbeds, tanning lotion or fragranced creams for at least 24 hours following a facial.

• Wear SPF to keep your skin protected

• Following a machine based facial your skin will be extra sensitive, avoid direct sunlight as you are at risk of burning

• Do not touch the treated areas

Reflexology/Indian head massage -

•Following our relaxation treatments make sure you stay hydrated, try to relax, avoid caffeine, smoking and alcohol for at least 24 hours (as this can disrupt the detoxifying/relaxation process) eat a well-balanced diet and have a light exercise routine to boost mood and reduce ongoing stress

•To remove massage oils from your hair it is best to massage shampoo directly on to your hair and rinse thoroughly, then repeat before conditioning

Allergic reactions can occur at any time; even if you have had a treatment done for years, things can change. If you experience itching, burning, swelling, or anything you may believe is unusual following your treatment please contact me ASAP for the removal of the product (if it is safe to do so) and the correct steps to follow.
